Gerona airport, or Girona airport is 12kms south of the city of Gerona by car rental and is an important access point for the beaches of Costa Brava, the Pyrenees and Barcelona. Gerona is a historic, walled city in north east Spain near the French border. Gerona Airport is primarily a hub for budget airlines, but also has regular and charter flights arriving and departing.

Gerona Airport has one terminal housing arrival and departure areas. The arrival hall, as well as the check-in area, is on the ground floor. The departures hall is on the first floor. Onward travel from Gerona Airport is either by car rental car, bus or taxi. There is a good network of motorways near the airport and, although Barcelona is 100kms away it only takes 1 hour, 10 minutes to get there by bus.

Facilities at Gerona Airport include an ATM, a few restaurants and bars, shops selling gifts and sundries, a large duty free shop selling the usual cigarettes, alcohol and fancy food products, a tourist information centre and a first aid centre. There is one airport hotel and a selection of others in Gerona city.
